Large User Tariff
The large user tariff is similar to the standard metered rate in that it is made up of a standing charge and a volumetric rate.
The standing charges are the same as those that apply to the standard metered tariff. The large user tariff takes the form of a reducing block tariff which is available for those customers who use more than 100,000 cubic metres of water per annum. These blocks provide a discounted volumetric rate for various bands of consumption.
If you want to avail of the large user tariff contact Waterline 0845 744 0088. Eligibility will depend, not only upon consumption but also upon the commitment of the customer to water efficiency. This may include, but is not restricted to, the installation of water saving devices, recycling plants and a review of water efficiency by independent industry experts.
The blocks and discounted rates are as follows:
| Block |
Discount |
Volumetric Rate |
| Annual consumption up to 100,000 m3 | None |
£0.9553 |
| Annual consumption between 100,000 and 250,000 m3 |
20% | £0.7642 |
| Annual consumption between 250,000 and 500,000 m3 |
25% | £0.7165 |
| Annual consumption over 500,000 m3 | 30% | £0.6687 |
| Building water volumetric charge | £0.9553 | |
| Domestic allowance (m3 per annum) | £200 |
A customer on the large user tariff will pay the standard volumetric rate for the first 100,000 m3 consumption each year. The 20% discount rate will be applied to further consumption up to 250,000 m3. The higher rates will apply to further consumption above 250,000 m3 and 500,000m3 respectively.
