Trevor Hazlett - Acting Chief Executive

Trevor Haslett

Chief Executive

Trevor worked for DRD Water Service for almost 30 years prior to the inception of Northern Ireland Water in 2007. He has held senior posts in Operations and Engineering and also worked in the private sector as Director of a civil engineering contracting company working throughout the UK.

He attained a BSc (Engineering) First Class Honours from Queens University and is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management and the Institution of Water Officers as well as a Chartered Engineer and Water Environmental Manager. 

Responsible for the overall performance of Northern Ireland Water and the ongoing transformation of the organisation into an efficient, customer focused, water utility.

George Butler - Director of Asset Management

George Butler

Director of Asset Management

George has worked in most aspects of the water industry as a consultant, independent contractor, regulator and financier.

In his early career he procured major water and waste facilities in the UK and overseas, using conventional and PPP models.

He is a chartered engineer, member of ICE, CIWEM and IWO and holds degrees from Edinburgh, Imperial and Cranfield universities. He is a director of UKWIR.

George's role with Northern Ireland Water has responsibility for strategic asset management and the company's scientific services.

Bill Gowdy

Acting Director of Engineering & Procurement

Bill has over 30 years experience in the water and sewerage industry and has been involved in all aspects of the business from design and procurement work, policy and legislative work, and operational management. 

He is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the current Regional Representative for Northern Ireland on the ICE Council.
He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water & Environmental Management, and a Fellow of the Institute of Water.

Bill is responsible for procuring and delivering the Capital Investment Programme along with integrating and managing the procurement of goods and services into the supply chain.

Ronan Larkin - Director of Finance and Regulation

Ronan Larkin *

Director of Finance & Regulation

Joined Water Service in September 2005 prior to the inception of Northern Ireland Water in April 2007. Previously responsible for commercial & financial roles in various other organisations in the UK and Ireland.

Responsible for the financial direction of Northern Ireland Water, plus all aspects of Corporate Governance, economic regulation and the companies relationship with The Regulator.


Sara Venning
Director of Customer Service Delivery
Sara joined NI Water in April 2010, moving from Northern Ireland Electricity where she was in charge of Customer Operations.  Sara’s main areas of responsibility are water production, networks operation, sewage treatment together with all aspects of service to customers.

Sara, who is originally from Mid-Ulster, has an M Eng degree from the Queen’s University, Belfast.

 

 

Mark Ellesmere - Head of Legal and Company Secretary

General Counsel and Company Secretary

Mark provides legal advice and assistance throughout the organisation and is Company Secretary to the board of Northern Ireland Water.
