Water Treatment Works

Everyday, more than 100 water treatment works in Northern Ireland produce approximately 625 million litres of high quality drinking water.

Treating water to remove debris, suspended matter and harmful bacteria is a necessary part of the water supply service and involves a variety of chemical and other processes which may be of particular interest to students.

Upon request and with appropriate advance notice we can arrange educational visits to one of our water treatment works for school or other groups.

Contact us on Waterline on 0845 744 0088 or email waterline@niwater.com to arrange a visit.
