NI Water Announces £3.5 million Investment for Carnmoney

Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) is pleased to announce a £3.5 million investment in the Carmoney area to upgrade the existing Water Treatment Works. The contract has been awarded to AECOM Design Build, in partnership with Farrans Construction.

Paul Davison, Project Manager NI Water, said:

“We are looking forward to working with our partners to deliver significant improvements to NI Water services in the Carmoney area. Customers will benefit from increased security of supply and water quality.”

Carmoney Water Treatment Works provides water for residents in east Londonderry. This project will greatly improve the existing facilities allowing for development and growth well into the 21st century. This scheme is now underway and it is anticipated work will be complete by spring 2011.

This investment in Carmoney is further proof of NI Water’s commitment to provide world-class water and wastewater services for the people of Northern Ireland.
