Sewer Improvement Work to Commence in Bangor

08 March 2010 10:51

Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) would like to announce that a programme of sewer improvement work will commence on Monday 8th March to install new storm and foul sewers in the Crawfordsburn/Bryansburn Road area of Bangor. Work is expected to last for up to seven weeks and working hours will be 8am-8pm.

Temporary traffic lights will be in operation for the first section of the scheme, and the Springhill Road will be closed at its junction with Crawfordsburn Road on Sunday 21st March to facilitate the works. A diversion via Brunswick Road will be signposted. Work will then progress between Springhill Rd/Crawfordsburn Road junction and the new development adjacent to the railway station. Regrettably, it will be necessary to close this section of road to through traffic in order to complete this section of the work. The road closure will come into operation on Monday 22nd March and will last for up to three weeks. A diversion via Brunswick Road and Springhill Road will be signposted.

Access will be maintained for those living within the works area, although residents should be aware that there may be occasions when they are restricted to travelling in one direction, depending on the location of the works. All diversions will be clearly signposted.

NI Water and our contractor Farrans Utilities would like to thank the public in advance for their co-operation during this vital sewer improvement work and every effort will be made to keep noise and disruption to a minimum.

NI Water’s customer relations team can be contacted via Waterline on 08457 440088. Customers with any questions on the scheme should quote Enterprise Farrans Sewer Improvement Work, Bryansburn/Crawfordsburn Road.
