Sewer Improvement Work gets underway in Crossgar

26 May 2011 10:16

NI Water is pleased to announce that essential sewer improvement work will start in the Crossgar area on the 30th May 2011. The work, which represents an investment of £165,000 by NI Water, will involve the installation of a new storm sewer along Downpatrick Street. This work will meet current and future development needs in the area and will reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding.

NI Water’s Project Manager for the scheme, Davy McGrath said:

“The installation of this new storm sewer is good news for the local community as it will improve the local infrastructure and reduce the risk of flooding along Downpatrick Street.

“The work will start in Crossgar on the 30th May. It is anticipated that the work along Downpatrick Street will commence on the 14th June. The work will be completed in sections to minimize disruption for the public, and a traffic management system will be in place. The entire programme of work is scheduled to last approximately 32 weeks.”

NI Water and our contractor O’Neill Contracts would like to thank the public in advance for their patience and co-operation during this vital improvement work.
