NI Water is pleased to announce the completion of a major new reservoir at Ballylone. This new reservoir is good news for the local area as it will increase the security and flexibility of the water supply for the Ballynahinch, Crossgar and Killyleagh Areas.

Almost £1 million was invested in this new reservoir, which has a capacity of approximately 5.6 mega litres. This is the equivalent to the amount of water needed to fill approximately 2 Olympic size swimming pools!

Project Manager, Gary Mc Fadden said:

"We are delighted to announce the completion of the new Ballylone Reservoir. Almost £1 million was invested in this project, which will improve the security and flexibility of water supply for over 5000 customers in the local area. This project is just one example of the level of investment required to improve water and wastewater services throughout Northern Ireland."

The contractor for the Ballylone Reservoir Project was Lagan Construction, with McAdam Design as Designers and Capita Symonds as Project Managers.
