Silent Valley Family Fun Day 25th March
22 March 2012 12:03
If you’re looking to put the ‘Spring’ back in your step and embrace the season of rebirth, renewal and regrowth, then look no further than the Silent Valley Mountain Park on Sunday 25th March from 1pm – 6pm.
NI Water is encouraging the public to step into Spring and join in with their Spring themed event. With activities such as archery, clay pigeon shooting, face painting, Mr Hullabaloos Springtime Storybook and The Ark Farm's Small Animal Corner, you would be mad to miss it!
NI Water’s organiser of the event and Education Manager, Jane Jackson, tells us of the fun to be had:
“The scale of activities we have organised for this event will ensure that there is something to suit everyone. Among the activities for younger children are Mr Hullabaloo’s “Springtime Story Book” and the chance to hold a small animal at the Ark Farms Small Animal Corner. For the more creative, you can make a candle to take home or watch a giant rabbit being weaved from willow! For our adventurous visitors, why not try your luck at climbing the rolling rock climbing tower all the way to the top or some clay pigeon shooting and archery. All this whilst enjoying some relaxing music on the lawn.
“We are also holding an Easter bonnet competition with prizes for all, as well as having stalls selling jewellery, knitted toys, books, soaps and delicious edible goodies. Local environmental conservation groups will also be on hand to give advice and provide children’s craft activities.
“A similar event was held in March last year which was a resounding success, attracting visitors from throughout Northern Ireland. The themed days are an excellent way to promote Silent Valley and boost the reputation of the area as a major tourist attraction. ”
Normal admission charges to Silent Valley will apply. All activities are free of charge.
