NI Water Appeal for Public to Obey Road Closure Signage

20 April 2017 12:55

Following a recent incident in the Toome Road area of Ballymena, NI Water is appealing to the local community and all road users to follow all Road Safety signage put in place at NI Water sites, particularly road closure signage.

Health and safety is a key priority for NI Water and it is necessary to close the road to protect the safety of the public, road-users and construction workers.

NI Water takes all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of our sites, but we would point out that our working sites should only be accessed by trained and qualified personnel. We would call on the local community to be vigilant and appeal to anyone ignoring this important signage to stop immediately before they cause injury to themselves or a severe incident in their own local community.

We would like to thank the public for their cooperation while we complete this essential sewerage improvement work in the area and would ask anyone who is aware of any incidents to contact Waterline on 03457 440088 or the PSNI on 0845 600 8000.
