Water Mains Improvement Work Progressing Well - Moneymore Road, Cookstown

31 July 2017 17:21

Work is progressing well to improve and upgrade the water supply infrastructure in the Moneymore Road area of Cookstown.

Once the current works on Moneymore Road have been completed, operations will transfer to the Morgans Hill Road in mid-August for approximately 8 weeks. In order to facilitate these works, Morgans Hill Road will be closed to southbound traffic. The work will be completed in sections to keep disruption to a minimum and diversion signage will be in place. There will be no restrictions to north bound traffic.

Unfortunately, on street parking will be restricted throughout this programme of work. However, pedestrian access will be available at all times. Every effort will be made to restore access as soon as possible each evening and we would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while we complete this essential programme of work.

Derek Crabbe NI Water Project Manager said:

This Water Mains Improvement Project is progressing well and will deliver what matters to our customers by improving essential water supply services.  The upgraded water mains will improve the quality, reliability and security of the local water supply, while reducing leakage and improving pressure in the area.

“NI Water appreciates that this work can be disruptive and would like to thank the public for their ongoing patience and cooperation during this work.  Our ultimate aim is to complete a scheme that will serve the community long after the diggers and workmen have gone and NI Water wants to work with the local community to achieve this goal.”

Traffic management and signage will also be in place as the work progresses and our customer relations team can also be contacted via Waterline on 03457 440088. Customers with any questions on the scheme should quote “Farrans Utilities Water Mains Rehabilitation Programme”.
