£250,000 Watermains Improvement Work Gets Underway in Meigh Area of Newry

26 September 2018 17:02

NI Water has commenced essential watermains improvement work in the Meigh area of Newry. The work will involve the installation of new watermains and some of our existing services will also be transferred over to the new pipework. This £250,000 investment is good news for customers in the local area, as the upgraded water mains will improve the quality, reliability and security of the local water supply.

Work will continue for approximately eight-ten weeks and working hours will be 9.00am-5pm. The majority of pipelaying will take place on the Carn Road in Meigh.

NI Water would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while we complete this essential programme of work to improve the water supply infrastructure, and we will do everything possible to keep any disruption to a minimum.

Letter drops have been completed in the affected areas to advise residents of this work and traffic management and signage will also be in place as the work progresses.

Our customer relations team can be contacted via Waterline on 03457 440088. Customers with any questions on the scheme should quote “Lagan Construction Ltd Water Mains Rehabilitation Programme”.
