Weather Warnings 09/11/18

09 November 2018 13:51

NI Water key staff and contractors have been placed on alert following weather warning reports from the Met Office for rain and wind affecting Northern Ireland over on Friday 9th November. In addition, all critical assets are being observed and NI Water is taking all practical steps to prepare for disruption.

In the event of disruption to supply or flooding caused by high winds or rain, NI Water has a well-tested major incident response regime in place to respond to operational emergencies.  This plan covers a range of measures including remote monitoring, by telemetry, of its critical assets, and escalation procedures in place for the deployment of additional resources to respond as required.

Flooding of homes or businesses can be extremely traumatic and upsetting and NI Water fully appreciates and sympathises with anyone who experiences this. Customers who experience flooding are encouraged to phone the multi-agency Flooding Incident Line on 0300 2000 100.
