Sewer Improvement Work Gets Underway in Dundonald

04 January 2019 15:03

NI Water will commence work on a new storm and foul sewer on the Old Dundonald Road during the week commencing 7th January 2019. It is anticipated that the work will take approximately 5 weeks to complete.

The proposed construction work will involve the installation of sewers starting from the entrance to Hanwood Business Park and Filling Station, progressing towards the new Quarter Wood development before the roundabout.

Work will commence with the connection to the existing sewers located around the entrance to Hanwood Business Park. Due to the location of this connection point, it will be necessary to undertake a short section of works at night. This work will take approximately 10 nights to complete with work being carried out between 7.00pm and 6.00am. NI Water will endeavour to minimise noise as far as possible during these night time works.

Subsequent to this, sewer laying will progress towards the new housing development; we anticipate that two- way traffic can be maintained for this section of work. Normal working hours on this section of work will be 8.00am to 5.00pm; however, it may be necessary at times for work to be undertaken outside of these hours.

NI Water and our contractor Campbell Contracts Ltd. would like to thank residents, business owners and the public for their ongoing patience and cooperation as we complete these essential works. We will also liaise directly with businesses in the area regarding access and deliveries.
