NI Water do Business with Hunterhouse College students

Business studies students at Hunterhouse College took part in a lesson with a difference when they took a tour of Belfast’s Wastewater Treatment Works at Duncrue Street.

It was an opportunity for the girls, who are all studying A Level Business studies, to get a closer look at the issues faced by those in industry and help bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace. The students were given a presentation by Senior Commercial lawyer at NI Water, Jason Johnston.

“NI Water was very pleased to host the business students from Hunterhouse College and I was certainly impressed by their incisive questions. We look forward to hosting further events with the College in the future,” says Mr Johnston.

The students were given a tour of the Waterworks showing them an insight into how wastewater is cleaned and treated.

Head of Business studies at Hunterhouse College, Patricia McCartan says, “This was a great opportunity for pupils taking A Level Business Studies to gain an understanding of the regulatory and governance aspects of Northern Ireland Water and the processes involved in wastewater treatment. We would like to thank Jason Johnston and his colleagues at NI Water for their support.”
