Storm Sewer Replacement works to commence- Main Street Ballykelly

Public Information – Drop in Session Wednesday 10th April 2019
NI Water is investing approximately £850,000 to upgrade and replace the existing storm sewerage system in Main Street, Ballykelly. The works are programmed to commence in mid-June and be completed by late August 2019.
This work will involve the replacement of 400m of storm sewer and associated manholes. Once the project is complete, this investment will significantly reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding and environmental pollution in this area during periods of heavy rainfall.
As part of the preparations for this scheme, NI Water would like to invite the public along to a ‘drop-in’ information event, where residents, business owners and the public are welcome to come along to find out more about the overall project.
Date: Wednesday 10th April 2019
Time: 4pm to 7pm – please feel free to drop in at any stage during this period
Location: Ballykelly Presbyterian Church Hall, 26 Main Street, Ballykelly
We would like to take this opportunity to provide the public with more detailed information on proposals and timings for this significant project within the area. Members of the NI Water project team will be available at any stage between 4pm to 7pm to discuss the scheme in further detail.
As with all works of this nature, some level of disruption should be expected. A lane closure will be in place on the Main Street, and temporary traffic management arrangements will be in operation throughout the works. In order to complete the works within this tight timescale it will be necessary to work 7 days a week, with extended works hours likely to be 7am to 11pm.
NI Water will continue to work closely with the Department for Infrastructure throughout this programme of works. In order to reduce disruption, the majority of work, which will take place in Ballykelly town centre, has been programmed to be completed over the summer months, when traffic flows are lightest.
NI Water would like to thank the public in advance for their patience and cooperation and will do everything possible to reduce disruption in the area whilst we prepare to commence this essential improvement work.ENDS For further information, please contact NI Water’s Press Office on 02890 354710 or email email@example.com
