Sewer Improvement Work Gets Underway at Jamaica Street, Belfast

14 August 2019 17:08

NI Water will commence essential Sewer Improvement Work at Jamaica Street, Belfast on Monday 19th August 2019. It is anticipated that the work will take approximately 6 weeks to complete. This project involves laying new sewers and associated manholes to serve a new housing development in the area.

NI Water will endeavour to minimise the impact of these works as far as possible on residents, road users and the public. In order to carry out the work safely, it will be necessary to have a temporary lane closure in place on Jamaica Street for the duration of the works.

Two-way traffic will be maintained with the use of temporary traffic signals. Vehicular access will be maintained for residents as far as possible but may be restricted for short periods as the work passes driveways. Pedestrian access will be available at all times and there will be some parking restrictions in place around the working area.

Normal working hours will be 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. However, it may be necessary at times for work to be carried out outside of these hours.

NI Water has issued notification letters to the affected residents in the area to inform them of the works and advanced notification signage has been erected.

Signage will be in place and NI Water and our contractor BSG Civil Engineering Ltd. would like to thank the public in advance for their patience and cooperation whilst we prepare to commence this essential improvement work.

ENDS.
