Water Supply Disruption in Tyrone and L’Derry

18 January 2015 14:00

NI Water regrets as many as 1,300 properties in Counties Tyrone, L’Derry and Fermanagh may have suffered disruption to their water supply due to ongoing industrial action.

The possible areas affected include:

Omagh:
Carrickmore, Dungannon (Sultan Road), Glenhull, Greencastle, Loughmacrory, Mountfield, Omagh (Camcosy Road, Gorticashel Road, Cairn Road, Cloghan Road, Fernagh Road, Green Road, Striff Lane), Pomeroy (Camlough Road and Loughmallon) and Sixmilecross.

Draperstown:
Cahore Heights and surrounding areas

Pomeroy:
Sluggan Road, Bardahessiagh Lane

NI Water is working to minimise disruption to customers’ supplies. Due to the industrial action, limited alternative water supplies will be available. The location of the alternative water supplies (water from plastic tanks) will be available via the postcode search on niwater.com or by contacting us on 08457 440088. Customers will need to bring their own containers to collect water from the tanks. Customers should boil the water before use.

NI Water fully recognises this is a frustrating experience for our customers, and can assure them we are doing everything possible to restore water supplies as quickly as possible.

NI Water contacted Trade Unions yesterday, Saturday, to seek their assistance to reinstate the protocol to allow their members to deal with emergency situations. Unions stated they were not in a position to reinstate any protocol.

NI Water would like to once again thank our customers for their continued patience whilst this problem is being resolved.
