Northern Ireland Water’s new £10 million Wastewater Treatment Works at Downpatrick is 26 weeks ahead of schedule. NI Water’s Trevor Haslett gave local politicians, Eddie McGrady, MP and Margaret Ritchie, MLA and members of Down District Council a tour of the Works, which is now due for completion in December 2009. The project has been designed to ensure current service provision to a population of just under 30,000 is maintained at all times.
