New Annagher Wastewater Pumping Station & Sewerage Improvement Scheme Continues

15 October 2013 12:43

NI Water is currently upgrading the sewerage infrastructure in the Annagher area of Coalisland. The work involves constructing a new Pumping Station at Annagher, which will improve the sewerage network, prevent out of sewer flooding and accommodate future development in the Coalisland area. The project will also involve the installation of new gravity sewers and a pumping main to Coalisland Wastewater Treatment Works.

As part of this process, we wish to advise customers that pipelaying  is currently on going on the Washingbay Road and the current road closure will remain in place until the 8th November 2013 to facilitate the installation of a gravity sewer. Further closures in the coming weeks to facilitate this scheme are as follows:

  • The Hackinblock Road will be closed on the 21st October for approximately 3 weeks
  • A lane closure will take place on the Gortgonis Road on the 28th October for approximately 1 week and a traffic light system will be in operation.
  • Bunnowen Drive will be closed on the 4th November for approximately 2 weeks.

These essential closures have been agreed with DRD Road Service and will ensure the safety of the travelling public and our contractors. Local traffic will be accommodated and signs will be in place to advise drivers of the restrictions.
The works may cause some disruption to the local community, but we aim to minimise vehicular and pedestrian traffic disruption as much as possible. NI Water and our contractor BSG Civil Engineering would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while we complete these essential sewerage infrastructure improvements for the area.

NI Water will continue to liaise closely with both DRD Roads Service and Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council throughout the scheme.

Customer queries regarding this work should be directed to Waterline on 08457 440088.
