Storm Sewer Work Ongoing in Ballyclare

11 July 2016 12:22

NI Water can confirm that work has commenced on the construction of a new storm sewer to serve a new housing development on the Ballynure Road area of Ballyclare.

The work on site commenced on 4 July,  and it is anticipated that it will take approximately 13 weeks to complete. The first section of work will be through private lands, and work on the road will commence around no. 57 Ballynure Road and will be located in the centre of the road. There will be no work on site from Monday 11 July – Monday 25 July.

Detailed traffic management plans have been discussed and agreed with Transport NI to try to minimise the impact of these works on residents, businesses and road users.

In order to allow the work to be carried out safely, it will be necessary to have a road closure in place on the main Ballynure Road. This road closure will commence on Monday 25 July and will be in place for 5 weeks. The road will be closed in sections as the work progresses and access will be maintained for residents/businesses and the leisure centre during this time. A diversionary route will be clearly signposted.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

NI Water along with our appointed contractor, A G Wilson, apologise for the disruption and inconvenience this work may cause and can assure customers and road users we will endeavour to complete the work as soon as practically possible.  Anyone with any queries or concerns should contact NI Water by dialling Waterline on 03457 440088.
