We’re passionate about growing our own talent and that’s why we offer a variety of career pathways for school, college and university leavers as well as those looking for a career change!

We are excited to announce the launch of our 2026 Entry Level Academy which offers a wide range of exciting opportunities for apprentices, higher level apprentices (HLA’s) and graduates across various disciplines including Water Utilities, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Science, Construction Engineering, Internal Audit and Hydraulic Modelling.

Our programmes enable you to earn while you learn, gain valuable skills, and achieve professional qualifications along the way.

Apprentice

Think of it as the ultimate career starter pack! An Apprenticeship with NI Water blends hands-on experience with formal learning through local colleges or one of our trusted training partners. You’ll earn a wage, learn new skills, and build a career.

Who’s it for?

Anyone aged 16+ with the right to work in the UK.

What level of qualification will I gain?

You’ll work towards a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in your chosen field.

Westland Labs

Higher Level Apprentice

Ready to level up? A Higher Level Apprenticeship combines real-world experience with advanced learning at a local college or university. With NI Water, you’ll gain practical skills, earn a salary, and study for higher-level qualifications.

Who is it for?

Anyone looking to boost their skills and gain higher-level qualifications.

What level of qualification will I gain?

You will gain a Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, which could include a Foundation Degree, Higher National Diploma, or even a full degree - depending on the programme.

Graduate

Already got your degree? Perfect! Our Graduate Programme is designed to help you turn knowledge into action. You’ll apply what you’ve learned in a practical setting, with clear progression opportunities. Where relevant, we’ll support you with additional qualifications like master’s degrees, postgraduate diplomas, or professional certifications.

Who’s it for?

Graduates who are ready to launch a rewarding career.
