Water Mains Improvement Programme To Commence On Glasdrumman / Ballagh Road

29 September 2010 8:32
Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) would like to announce that a programme of water mains improvement work will commence on the main coastal road from Newcastle to Annalong in early October. This work is part of a wider £6.5million investment in the water mains infrastructure in the South Down area. The upgraded water mains will dramatically improve the quality, reliability and flexibility of water supply in the area while also reducing leakage.

The first phase of work will be carried out at the Mill Road junction, Annalong, and will continue along to the vicinity of Bloody Bridge. During this time, traffic lights will be in operation and therefore some delays should be expected along the road. It is anticipated that all works will be completed by early February.

NI Water and our contractor Farrans Utilities would like to thank the public in advance for their co-operation during this vital improvement work and every effort will be made to keep any disruption to a minimum.

NI Water’s customer relations team can be contacted via Waterline on 08457 440088. Customers with any questions on the scheme should quote Farrans Utilities Water Mains Rehabilitation Programme.
