Ballymoney Water Quality Issue

08 November 2011 15:00
Northern Ireland Water has identified a quality issue with water supplied to the Ballymoney area.

This appears to be linked to the recent renovation of water mains in the area. Having liaised with the Public Health Agency, NI Water is advising all customers in the Ballymoney Area:

Ballymena Road, Bann Road, Bendooragh, Balnamore, and Finvoy

to boil water for food preparation, cooking and drinking.

It is sufficient to bring water to the boil before use for these purposes. Water used for bathing and washing clothes is not affected. NI Water is working in full co-operation with the Public Health Agency as well as Ballymoney Borough Council.

Approximately 3000 properties are affected.
Critical Care Customers will receive a supply of bottled water today 8th November.

Further operational work will continue, along with testing, until samples have returned to normal; customers will be notified by card when water quality returns to normal. This information will be relayed via local news outlets, as well as our website and social media sites.
