20 July 2011 16:07
Rospa Award NI Water is celebrating for the second time after winning the prestigious Gold Achievement Award in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2011.

The RoSPA Awards scheme is not only about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; it also encourages organisations to develop robust health and safety management systems.

The Gold Achievement Award was presented to Hugh Curley, Health and Safety Manager on 19 May:

"We are delighted to have received such a prestigious award as it recognises the efforts of all our employees in promoting a safe working culture. This Gold Award follows on from our Gold Award in 2010 and demonstrates the continuous commitment of all staff within NI Water in the pursuit of a safe and healthy workplace."

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said:

"NI Water has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. RoSPA is delighted to publicly honour organisations like NI Water who have demonstrated their work to continually improve their performance in this sphere."
