NI Water will be carrying out essential Sewer Improvement Work on the Buncrana Road, L’Derry from the 23rd January 2012. Approximately £700,000 will be invested in this programme of work, which will last approximately 16 weeks.
As with all work of this nature, there will be an element of disruption and the Buncrana Road will be closed to through traffic on the city-bound lane from Racecourse Road junction to Pennyburn Roundabout. Traffic management will be in place and any diversions will be clearly signposted.
This work is part of a wider £28 million ongoing programme of improvement for the sewerage infrastructure within the city. The work will also reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding and will meet the city’s existing and future development needs.
NI Water and its contractor, Shearwater Consortium, would like to thank the public in advance for their patience and cooperation, and assure them that we will do everything we can to minimise inconvenience to businesses and residents and complete the work as quickly as possible.
