As we approach both International Women’s Day (8th March 2026) and World Water Day (22nd March 2026) this month, NI Water is proud to champion opportunities that lift others up and #GivetoGain, because where water flows, equality grows.
As part of NI Water’s ongoing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion commitment, four of our inspiring female leaders – Head of Climate Change and Wastewater Regulation Orla Crothers, Finance and Regulation Business Partner Carol Hall, Business Improvement Programme Manager Catherine Higgins and Head of Drinking Water Regulation Dymphna Gallagher – took part in the SistersIN mentoring programme.
Through this initiative, they mentored students, helping to inspire and empower the next generation of female leaders.
The eight month programme closed with an informal session with NI Water’s Chief Executive, Dr Sara Venning, and a panel of dedicated mentors offering invaluable advice on leadership, career development and the importance of diversity in the workplace.
NI Water HR Operations Manager Kerrie Townsend said: “NI Water is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and is steadfast in supporting young women through initiatives like the SistersIN Leadership Programme.
“As we mark International Women’s Day and World Water Day, both of which have similar themes of gender and equality, we reaffirm our dedication to empowering female leadership and fostering a workforce that reflects our communities.
“Everyone is now looking forward to the SistersIN Celebration at ICC Belfast on 24th March 2026, where achievements and progress towards equality will be recognised and celebrated.”
