Loss of Water in the Portaferry Area

24 March 2009 10:38

Due to a burst water main a number of properties on higher ground in the Portaferry area have suffered water supply problems over Saturday 21, Sunday 22 and Monday 23 March.

Good recovery has been made to supplies and water pressure is now building in remaining areas that have experienced problems through to Monday evening, including Joe Tumelty Drive, Windmill Meadow and Windmill Hill. Less than ten properties now remain without water and supply will be restored to these over the next few hours.

While the system is re-charging, customers may experience low pressure with isolated problems due to localised air locks. Northern Ireland Water staff are on the ground to address remaining issues.

NI Water would like to apologise again to customers for the inconvenience caused and appreciates their patience while remaining problems are resolved.

If customers continue to experience problems, they should contact Waterline on 08457 440088.
