Completion of Flood Alleviation Scheme in Cookstown

14 May 2009 8:09

Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) has completed an extensive flood alleviation scheme in Cookstown, delighting Chapel Street resident Edmund Slaine, who has recently suffered from flooding related incidents. The scheme, representing an investment of over £300,000, will reduce the risk of out-of-sewer flooding and other general flooding incidents.

NI Water liaised closely with Road Service and PSNI regarding the traffic management for this scheme and disruption was kept to a minimum through the use of environmentally friendly low-dig technology, which minimises the amount of waste material generated in the excavation process. NI Water would like to thank all local residents for their patience while this essential work was completed.
