Sewer Improvement Work continues in Omagh

29 October 2010 8:46

NI Water is currently carrying out work on a £1.7million sewer improvement scheme in the Omagh area. The work is currently taking place from the Tamlaght Road and Clontarf Drive area to the Mullaghmena Park and Hunters Crescent area.

As part of this work, a temporary road closure will be required at Mullaghmena Park, which will be closed to through traffic from its junction with Great Northern Road to the junction with Gortrush Industrial Estate. The closure will be in place from Monday 8th November for approximately 3 weeks. Access to the Industrial Estate will be provided via the Great Northern Road entrance. During this time, vehicles exiting the Industrial Estate will be restricted to a left-turn only in order to help minimise traffic delays.

Please note that once this first section of work has been completed and the road reopened, works will continue along Mullaghmena Park past the Driver & Vehicle Testing Agency and then ultimately into fields. This work is expected to take a further 3 weeks to complete during which time temporary traffic lights will be in operation, and therefore some delays in this area should be expected.

NI Water and its contractor Farrans Construction Ltd would like to assure the public that everything will be done to minimise disruption while this essential work is completed. Any queries should be directed to our customer relations centre via Waterline on 08457 440088.
