Sewer Improvement Work commences in Duke Street

10 November 2010 8:33

NI Water is scheduled to commence essential Sewer Improvement Work in the Duke Street Roundabout Area. Work will commence on site during the week commencing 22nd November 2010 and will last approximately 10 weeks. The majority of this work will take place around the Roundabout itself, with traffic management measures in place throughout the night.

This work is part of an overall £27million investment in the Drainage Area Plan for the city. It will facilitate planned and future development within the city as well as reducing localised ‘out of sewer’ flooding in the sewerage network.

Unfortunately, as with all work of this nature, there will be an element of disruption. Traffic flows will be restricted by lane closures in the vicinity of the works. However, NI Water and its contractor Shearwater Consortium would like to assure the public that everything will be done to minimise disruption while this essential work is completed.
