Upgrade of Beechlawn Pumping Station, Hillsborough

NI Water is soon to commence the upgrade of Beechlawn Pumping Station in Hillsborough, and is issuing an important reminder to parents and young people about the dangers of playing in or near construction sites. This work will take place from June - September 2011.This work, which represents an investment of £700,000 by NI Water, will upgrade the current Beechlawn Wastewater Pumping Station in the area to meet current and future EU regulations and improve the water quality of the local water course.
The pumping station is being relocated within the grounds of Beechlawn School. NI Water has already visited the school and spoke to pupils about the work and how to stay safe around it.
