Sewer work to commence on Annadale Embankment

29 June 2011 10:40

NI Water is pleased to announce that essential sewer network improvements will start along the Annadale Embankment on the 25th July 2011. The work, which represents an investment of £800,000 by NI Water, will involve construction work along the Annadale Embankment to facilitate a new pumping station at the bottom of Sunnyside Street. This work is good news for the area as it will improve the existing infrastructure, reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding and improve the water quality in the River Lagan.

NI Water’s Project Manager for the scheme, Keith Haslett said:

"The installation of this new pumping station is good news for the local community as it will improve wastewater services in the area, reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding and will improve the water quality in the River Lagan. The work will start along Annadale Embankment on the 25th July and will last approximately 6 months. The work will be completed in sections to minimize disruption for the public, and a traffic management system will be in place. NI Water and our contractor Consent Solutions would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while we complete this essential improvement work and would like to emphasise that two-way traffic will be maintained along the embankment throughout the scheme."
