Work in Portadown and Scarva Progressing Well

NI Water is pleased to announce that work is progressing well on a scheme in the Obin Street area of Portadown which will improve the watermain and sewerage infrastructure in the area. The work is scheduled to be completed by July 2012.

This work, which represents an investment of £1.3 million by NI Water will secure water supply and reduce out of sewer flooding, improve river quality and improve the sewerage system to meet future growth and demand in the area.

Meanwhile, a storm sewer is also being constructed at Main Street Scarva to serve the needs a new housing development comprising fifty five properties. The scheme will improve the sewerage infrastructure for this development and will also meet Northern Ireland Environment Agency requirements.

The contractor for the scheme at Obin Street is Maghera based BSG Civil Engineering Ltd and the contractor on the Scarva project is Pomeroy based Quinns Automation Ltd.

NI Water and our contractors will do everything possible to complete this essential improvement work as soon as possible and with minimal disruption, and would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation.
