NI Water Responds to Utility Regulator’s Draft Determination

13 September 2012 9:19

Responding to the publication of the Utility Regulator’s Draft Determination for Price Control 13 (PC13), Ronan Larkin, Director of Finance and Regulation commented:

“We note the Regulator’s Draft Determination which was published this morning and we will be examining the detail carefully over the coming weeks.

“NI Water submitted its PC13 Business Plan to the Utility Regulator on 21 May 2012. In shaping our plan we have worked with the Utility Regulator and our Stakeholders to propose a way forward which allows us to continue to improve the service to customers today and to invest to safeguard services for future customers.

“Our plan also supports key elements of the current Programme for Government for Northern Ireland in delivering necessary infrastructure and wider strategic aims. Our plan reflects that we will do this with continued improvements in our efficiency. A public facing summary is available on our website at http://www.niwater.com/siteFiles/resources/pc13 business plan summary.pdf

“The publication of the Draft Determination allows us to begin to assess the Regulator’s view of NI Water’s revenue requirements over the two year period covered by the plan as well as the associated outputs.

“The process now provides for eight weeks to prepare a response. We look forward to providing our response and will continue to engage with the Utility Regulator and other Stakeholders in a constructive manner.”
