NI Water essential repair work at Lower South Woodburn Dam

12 January 2018 15:30

NI Water is currently undertaking essential repair work at Lower South Woodburn Dam.  The nature of the repair requires us to drain the Dam.  The water level is presently dropping in a controlled manner.

Once the water level has dropped sufficiently, we can access and investigate a suspected faulty valve.

As this is a controlled repair, there are no customer supplies affected.  NI Water have been liaising with colleagues in Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) and Inland Fisheries to advise them of the actions we are taking.

Once the investigations are complete and the appropriate repairs, if necessary, are carried out, the water levels in the Dam will be allowed to rise again.
