Water Mains Improvement Work Gets Underway – Orritor Road, Cookstown

04 January 2018 15:51

NI Water is currently engaged in an ongoing process of improving and upgrading the water supply infrastructure throughout Northern Ireland and work will get underway in the Orritor Road area of Cookstown on the 8th January. This £2.4 million investment involves laying approximately 30km of new watermains and will benefit customers in the local area, as the upgraded water mains will improve the quality, reliability and security of the local water supply, while reducing leakage and improving pressure in the area.

Work will continue for approximately eight weeks and will be completed at night in two sections to reduce disruption. Working hours will be 9.30pm-6.00am. Section one will be laid from the junction of Morgans Hill Road to the entrance of Marks & Spencer and section two will take place from the junction at Marks & Spencer to Oldtown Street.

NI Water and our contractor Farrans Utilities would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while we complete this essential programme of work and we will do everything possible to keep any disruption to a minimum.

Letter drops have been completed in the affected areas to advise residents of this work and traffic management and signage will also be in place as the work progresses. Local access will be maintained along the Orritor Road throughout the duration of the works.

Our customer relations team can be contacted via Waterline on 03457 440088. Customers with any questions on the scheme should quote “Farrans Utilities Water Mains Rehabilitation Programme”.
