Please report any leaks or burst pipes you may see

07 March 2018 12:37

NI Water continues to appeal to the public to be extra vigilant and report any leaks or burst pipes they may see.

Reporting is simple, there is an online form that can be accessed from any device at www.niwater.com/report-a-leak-or-burst-pipe or a call can be made to Leakline on 0800 0282011.

NI Water teams will continue to work around the clock and into the weekend to ensure leaks are detected and repaired. You can help them by checking for leaks on private property.  In particular, we are appealing to farmers, caravan park owners and landlords of vacant properties to check their premises.

The impact of burst pipes on private property cannot be over-estimated.   In January 2011, a single burst pipe in a vacant business property lost over 30 million litres of water and resulted in loss of supply to surrounding homes.  This loss of water was enough to:

  • Supply a family of 4 with water for 137 years
  • Fill 15 million kettles
  • Make 120 million cups of tea
