Females working on the EU-funded cross-border SWELL project (Shared Waters Enhancement & Loughs Legacy) came together to mark International Women’s Day 2020. The women are qualified in engineering, scientific, project management, environmental, health & safety, communications and business development roles, highlighting the unique and diverse contribution women are making to this major cross-border project.

The project will see the construction of new wastewater treatment works as well as upgrades to sewerage networks on both sides of the border to address wastewater pollution in Carlingford Lough and Lough Foyle.

The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is #EachforEqual where an equal world is an enabled world.

If you want to take action on International Women’s Day then why not choose to challenge stereotypes, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements.

Together, we can all help create a gender equal world.
