Paying your bill

To make paying your bill easier, we offer a range of payment methods to suit your needs.

Online Payment (Self-Service)

We have developed an internet based self service facility. This enables customers to access their NI Water account online at a time that is convenient to them. After registering, customers can use the self service facility to:
View the account balance;

  • View their bill and payment history;
  • Pay a bill;
  • Manage account details; and
  • Request the septic tank desludging service (online registration is not required)

To register, please click here, then click on ‘Create an account’ and follow the steps.
 

Direct Debit

This is the quickest and easiest way to pay your bill. We offer a number of payment options for customers measured and unmeasured charges. You can chose to either set up an automatic annual payment from your account or you may prefer to spread the cost of your bill by arranging a monthly payment plan. To set up a Direct Debit or payment plan, contact us on 0345 877 0030.

Electronic Payment

You can pay your invoice electronically through your online banking, telephone banking or by BACS. These payments should be sent to the following bank account:

Please ensure that any payment made, quotes your NIW customer reference from the top left of your bill, to allow us to allocate your payment to your account.

By Debit or Credit Card

You can also pay by debit or credit card by phoning us on 0345 8770030. You will need to quote your customer reference number.

By Cheque

Send a cheque made payable to Northern Ireland Water Ltd to: Northern Ireland Water, PO Box 1026, Belfast BT1 9DG. Please write your customer reference number and postcode on the back of your cheque or Postal Order and enclose your payment slip with it.

At any Bank or Building society

Please take your bill or payment slip with either cash, cheque or postal order crossed and made payable to NI water Ltd. This service is free at any branch of Danske Bank. Other banks may charge for this service.

Problems Paying your Bill

If you have difficulty paying your bill, contact us We will consider your particular circumstances and work with you to agree an affordable repayment arrangement. Ignoring the situation may result in disconnection of the water supply and/or legal action.

Please note: Should your cheque or Direct Debit payments be returned as unpaid by your Bank, a fee may be added to your water account to cover our administration costs.
