Step back in time and enjoy the rich heritage of the Silent Valley with an exciting new augmented reality app. Allow our historic tour guides to take you back to the 1930s, submerging yourself in the history of the park. Learn about the industrial heritage which gave rise to the magnificent Silent Valley dam and the Binnian Tunnel – amazing feats of engineering that shaped this spectacular area of the Mourne landscape.

To enjoy the experience of this trail, follow the steps below:

1. Download the App called “The Silent Valley Story (AR)” – available from the Apple Store and Google Play
2. Stop 1 (of 4) is at the entrance to the Nature Trail, at the side of the main car park (see panel on large boulder, including a map of all 4 stops)
3. Open the App
4. Select “1 – Welcome”
5. Use your phone to scan the QR code on the panel, to launch the experience

NB - Whilst there is reasonable internet access at the Silent Valley, it may be quicker to download the App at home, before you visit the park.
