NI Water To Invest £27 Million in Co. Down

Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) has announced a £27 million investment programme in County Down to improve water and wastewater services in the area.

The investment, announced at Down District Council meeting on 12 February, relates to a number of schemes that are already underway or planned to commence within this financial year.

This major investment programme will bring significant benefits to the local community, economy and meet the needs of the growing population and tourism industry. The work includes a new £8 million Wastewater Treatment Works for Downpatrick, a new £2 million Wastewater Treatment Works for Strangford, and sewer network improvements in Downpatrick.
