Developer Services – Covid 19 Update for Customers: Updated 3/4/2020
We wish to inform developers and home builders how COVID 19 may affect the services that Developer Services provides to you.
Following Government Health advice to keep customers and our staff safe NI Water has reviewed the services offered to Developers and New Customers and has determined that the following work activities are deemed non-essential:
- Mains to Housing
- Housing site connections - Water
- Full Service connections - Water
- New Sewer connections
- Lead Pipe Replacements & Separation of Supplies
We are therefore no longer processing applications.
All site work will terminate immediately. Developers/Customers that have already agreed dates with our connection team will be contacted and their requests reviewed.
Developer Services staff will no longer be carrying out non critical site visits. As a result you may experience a delay in the completion of 50%, preliminary and final adoption of sewers under Article 161 for application already submitted. Similarly for applications for requisition of sewer and water main extensions external to site. As the site visits associated with these applications are deemed non essential we will not be processing any new applications.
If you wish to submit a new Article 161 application (SA1) we would ask that you contact email@example.com before doing so. We will provide you with details on how to go about making your application during the current lockdown.
VAT Receipts- Given the current government restrictions for COVID-19, all of our administrative staff are working from home and are therefore unable to issue official correspondence, this includes vat receipts in relation to services for which you have paid.If you can provide an email address we will e-mail you a copy of your vat receipt. If not, we will issue you with a printed copy but there will be a delay in processing. Thank you for your cooperation and patience during these unprecedented circumstances
We are endeavouring to continue to deliver other services where there is no requirement to visit site as normal. This may change and we may have to ask for you to change how you interact with us such as submitting information by email rather than by post. As things change we will endeavour to keep you updated.
This remains a challenging time for us all. We would ask for your co-operation and patience at this time.
If you wish to contact us on developer services related matters you can do so by email to developerservices[AT]niwater[DOT]com.
In the event that you have an un-resolved development related issue, you can escalate your query. Details of our escalations process can be found here.
