Alternative Water Supply:

If the loss of water supply is the responsibility of NI Water:

Occasionally, a situation will arise when you will lose water supply. NI Water will work to restore water supplies as quickly as possible, however, in adverse weather conditions or in the case of a burst in one of our larger water mains, it may take longer.

NI Water can provide an alternative water supply:

If you are off water supply for more that 24 hours, as a result of an issue with our supply network, NI Water will provide you with an alternative water supply. This may be through bottled water to your home or by placing a water bowser in your area where you can collect water from.

If you have a specific medical condition that requires the provision of a water supply, we can make special arrangements to give you an alternative supply, for example bottled water. You need to register with our customer care register to avail of this service. Registering is simple, call 08457 440088.

If the loss of water supply is due to frozen pipes on your property:

You are responsible for the pipework on your land or in your home. If you do not have water and your neighbours do, it is likely there is a problem with your own pipework.

You need to contact a plumber for advice
Know where your stop valve is, this is very important to minimise flooding damage.

You need to plan an alternative water supply until your pipes are fixed. NI Water is mindful of the extremely trying conditions faced by many of our customers and will endeavour to do all in their power to alleviate those difficulties where it is feasible for us to do so.

Our priority however, is the network services that we provide and unfortunately NI Water does not have the resources to provide individual properties with alternative supplies.

At this point NI Water are not supplying bowsers for livestock
