Water Mains Improvement Programme Continues at Balmoral Avenue

16 February 2011 13:17

NI Water is currently engaged in an ongoing process of improving and upgrading the water supply infrastructure in the South Belfast area. This work is good news for the area as the upgraded water mains will dramatically improve the quality, reliability and flexibility of water supply, while also reducing leakage.

As part of this process, NI Water would like to advise the public that work is due to commence on Balmoral Avenue on Monday 28th February for approximately three months. The work will involve laying new water mains between the junction with Lisburn Road to the junction with Harberton Avenue and will involve excavations on both sides of the carriageway. Traffic management including signage will be put in place throughout this work and delays should be expected along Balmoral Avenue at peak times.

NI Water and our contractor Farrans Utilities have carried out letter drops in each area to advise residents of this work. We would like to thank the public in advance for their co-operation and patience during this essential improvement work. There will be some disruption while this work takes place, but we would like to assure customers that every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.

NI Water’s customer relations team can be contacted via Waterline on 08457 440088. Customers with any questions on the scheme should quote “Farrans Utilities Water Mains Rehabilitation Programme”.
