Greyabbey Flood Alleviation Scheme

04 October 2011 12:10

NI Water is pleased to announce that a Flood Alleviation Scheme will start in Greyabbey this month. Work will begin to upgrade the existing Wastewater Treatment Works in the village, which will be followed by pipelaying work throughout the village to improve the sewerage infrastructure in January 2012. The entire programme of work is scheduled for completion by Autumn 2012.

Approximately £1million will be invested in this improvement programme, which will reduce the risk of flooding, meet Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) compliance standards and will improve the water quality transferred to Strangford Lough.

Everyone is welcome to attend an Information Evening regarding this scheme on Tuesday 11th October 2011 from 3pm – 7pm in Greyabbey Village Hall.
