Sale of NI Water assets

13 February 2012 10:18

NI Water has identified a number of sites which are no longer required by the organisation. Some of these sites will be put up for sale over the coming months. Information on the forthcoming sales will be available on NI Water’s website, through newspaper advertisements and brochures.

Bill Gowdy, Director of Engineering Procurement with NI Water explains,

“NI Water is obliged to limit its land and property holdings to the minimum required to provide current and future water and wastewater services.

“Details of the sites for disposal are continually updated and on the 1st of April each year NI Water presents an Annual Land Disposal Return for the Utility Regulator. This report identifies land which NI Water proposes to dispose of during the forthcoming year. It is not only a Regulatory requirement, but good business practice to identify surplus land and property assets, particularly those that attract security and maintenance costs.

“NI Water works in conjunction with professional property advisors to examine the best method and timings for the disposal of these assets. Our priority is ensuring value for money is achieved while providing the safe and efficient delivery of water and wastewater services.”

A full list of sites for sale are available to view on https://www.niwater.com/assetdisposal.asp. For further information on the sale of land and assets, please contact Waterline on 08457 440088.
