Sewer Work Gets Underway – Limavady Road L’Derry (A2)

17 January 2017 14:45

NI Water will commence work on a new storm sewer on the Limavady Road, L’Derry during the week commencing 23rd January 2017. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 12 weeks to complete.

The proposed construction work will involve the laying of approximately 418 metres of storm sewer and associated manholes to serve the Foyle College and Ebrington Primary School development.

Detailed traffic management plans have been discussed with TransportNI to try to minimise the impact of these works on residents, road users and the general public.

In order for the works to be completed safely, it will be necessary to have a temporary lane closure in place on the Limavady Road. This will be in place for the duration of the works and two-way traffic will be maintained with the use of temporary traffic lights. Vehicular access will be maintained for residents where possible and pedestrian access will be available at all times.

Working hours will generally be restricted to 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. However, it may be necessary at times for work to be carried out outside of these hours.

Traffic delays are to be expected and motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journey or if possible take an alternative route.

NI Water and our contractor BSG Civil Engineering Ltd would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while we complete this essential work and assure you we will do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum and ensure the work is completed as soon as practicably possible.

Customer queries should be directed to Waterline on 03457 440088.
