Ballykelly Sewerage Improvement Programme Ground Investigation Work Gets Underway

NI Water has been undertaking ground investigation work in the Main Street area of Ballykelly. These works, which were suspended for a period will re-commence for one week from Monday 13th – Friday 17th August.
The investigation works will involve the excavation of a number of exploratory trenches to confirm the location of existing services and assess ground conditions. These works are being carried out in advance of a larger project to upgrade the existing sewers in the area, which is planned for a later date, and will assist with the detailed design of this project.
Detailed traffic management arrangements have been discussed with the Department for Infrastructure, and in order to carry out the work safely, it will be necessary to have a lane closure in place on Main Street during the work. Due to location and nature of these works, and to minimise disruption as far as possible, the main work will be undertaken during night-time hours. Vehicular access will be maintained for residents as far as possible and pedestrian access will be available at all times. Parking restrictions will be in place around the working area.
The working hours will be 8:00pm to 6:00am each evening/morning from Mon 13th - Friday 17th August 2018; the road will be fully re-opened by 6.00am each morning. However, it may be necessary at times for work to be undertaken outside of these hours.
NI Water and our contractor BSG Civil Engineering fully appreciate that work of this nature can be disruptive, particularly at night and we will take every measure possible to keep this to a minimum.
