NI Water is pleased to announce that a major Water Improvement Project, which will benefit customers in the wider Enniskillen area is progressing well. This project is an essential new water pipeline that will increase the resilience and robustness of the water supply network.

Over 60 percent of the pipeline has been completed to date, with over 2.8km of pipeline installed along the Thomastown Road and the Ballylucas Road, Enniskillen.

Work is now scheduled to get underway on the Belfast Road on the 17th July for approximately 18 weeks. The work will be carried out in sections, with pipelaying starting at the junction with the Lough Yoan Road and finishing at the Old Enniskillen Road.

Signage and traffic management will be in place throughout this work and a two-way traffic light system will be in place from Monday - Friday from 09:30-16:30.

Eimear McDaid, NI Water Project Manager said:

“We are pleased to announce that this major Water Improvement Project, which will greatly benefit customers in the wider Enniskillen area, is progressing well.

“The project will improve the robustness and resilience of the local water supply infrastructure, which will be particularly important during the winter months and other unplanned events, such as a water supply interruption, to ensure maximum security of supply for our customers in the local area.

“NI Water and our contractor Farrans would like to thank the public for their continued patience and cooperation. Further updates and signage will be in place as this essential scheme progresses. We assure the public that we will do everything possible to keep any disruption to a minimum.”

NI Water would like to take this opportunity to highlight that construction sites are dangerous areas and our sites have warning signs in place to protect the public from any hazards. The public are advised to stay away from these working areas for their own safety.

Over the past fifteen years, NI Water has steadily improved the efficiency with which we operate while at the same time improving the quality of drinking water, levels of environmental compliance and the services we provide to our customers.
