It was all 'Flow' at the Balmoral Show!

17 May 2013 11:01

Crowds 'flooded' the NI Water stand at the 2013 Balmoral Show at the Balmoral Park/Maze site near Lisburn, where they learnt all about Water Efficiency, our 'Bag It and Bin It' campaign, and Water for Health.

The impressive NI Water stand featured many of NI Water's key messages including Water Efficiency and advice on what you should and shouldn't flush down your toilet.  Other messages included Water for Health, encouraging people to drink the recommended 6-8 glasses of water per day.  The stand was also interactive, and allowed people to see just how much water they use in their day-to-day lives.

Visitors were also introduced to NI Water's work with WaterAid, our chosen charity which works to provide safe drinking water in less developed countries.  NI Water staff were on hand throughout the event, ready and willing to answer all questions from the public.

Celine Rodgers of NI Water said: ''NI Water is delighted to exhibit at the 2013 Balmoral Show, the first in the new venue.  We welcome the opportunity to get out and promote our positive key messages, such as Water for Health, 'Bag It and Bin It' and Water Efficiency, and as a key event in the Northern Ireland calendar, the Balmoral Show provides us with a tremendous opportunity to do that.

While encouraging people to have fun at our stand, some serious messages were given in relation to damage caused to the environment and beaches through the flushing of inappropriate items with the 'Bag It and Bin It' magnetic game, and also about saving water, our most precious resource.''
